Factory Didn’t Ship the Right Amount, Now They Won’t Reply.

Recently I became a victim of USB supplier called “XXXcare International Holdings Limited” based in Shenzhen. I ordered 3000 pieces of USB’s but received only 187 pieces. Now the sales representative seems offline in Skype and I am not sure how to recover the remaining goods. Please advise.

Next time around, please utilize an inspection agency.  For a few 100 USD they will visit the supplier and inspect the goods (quality and order size) before it ships out of China and before you pay the final payment.  This affordable step would have prevented the problem you describe above. I would be happy to introduce the inspection agents I use if you want a recommendation. Please advise.

If you are saying to yourself “but my order is too small, I can’t afford an inspection” then you will benefit from reading:  Too small to go factory direct?

Also, make sure to have a good contract that explains what will happen in the event of quality problems.   You can find tips about contract at this blog post: A small buyer placing orders with Chinese Suppliers: contracts, travel, and other issues

For your current problem order, you have two options

a)      Engage a 3rd party negotiator to step in and try to salvage the relationship

b)      If the relationship is behind repair, hire a local lawyer to send a demand letter.

Demand letter and mediators are explained in this helpful blog post: Resolving a dispute: Demand letters and legal options

If you would like to be introduced to any of those third parties and/or if you need help finding a better supplier, just let me know. I am happy to make the recommendations for you.

Let me know how things work out for you.
